Homework: October 30

Today students in the Red and Green classes will be receiving their copies of Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. This will be our "anchor text," or primary source material, for the next few weeks. On the GCSD Humanities Middle School Literature List Database the books is described thusly:

Billy and his precious coonhound pups romp relentlessly through the Ozarks, trying to "tree" the elusive raccoon. When a victory over a mountain lion turns to tragedy, Billy grieves, but learns the beautiful old Native American legend of the sacred red fern that grows over the graves of his dogs.
