The Countdown Is On!

A special "thank you" to all those who were able to stop in for our team's Parent-Teacher Conference Days this past Wednesday and Thursday. It is always great to have an opportunity to meet with parents and share some of the successes we have experienced together thus far this year.

This Monday, December 3(!), marks our return to normalcy following the previous two weeks' of break-shortened-school-weeks and the calendar continues to count down to 2008. If I neglected to mention it at our conference, midway through January 2008, all students will be sitting for the two-day New York State Eighth Grade English Language Arts Assessment. Administered over two days, January 16 and 17, the ELA 8 Assessment will evaluate how well our students meet the Language Arts Standards (which are briefly articulated in the column to the right of this post).

In addition to counting down the days until the assessment on our "Countdown" to the right, I will be sharing more insight and suggestion about the assessment as we move closer to the assessment...

Read Up and Write On!
