Extra Credit 1: On-line State Exam Prep!

Follow the easy steps below to 1) practice for the New York State Assessment and 2) earn some Extra Credit for Language Arts class!

1. Look to the right of this post to the section entitled "ELA 8 Assessment Prep."

2. Click on the "Reading Comprehension (Brainchild Test)" link there or here.

3. Complete one 12 questions Reading Comprehension practice. You will be asked to read 2-3 passages of varying genres and respond to multiple choice questions (just like the assessment!)

4. Once you've completed the activity, either Print the page with the results or write the necessary information on a sheet of loose-leaf. Important info which would serve as evidence would be: "Date," "Score," "Time" then the “Strand” and “Score” on loose leaf to submit for extra credit.

5. Feel free to REPEAT to get even more practice!
