Homework for February 26

Please note that your last Transactional Journal Entry (TJE) for the current independent reading is due at the beginning of class on Friday (Red, Yellow, Blue) and that at least one of your TJEs must have been Option 1, as previously presented in the original assignment. Option 1 is to

"Fully examine and explain a particular piece of the writer’s craft; you may want to consider any one of the following and explain how it underscores one of the motifs or themes of the book: metaphor, foreshadowing, symbolism, characterization, structure, hyperbole, imagery, diction, voice, etc." or

"Why did the author(s) choose to write the novel in the manner he or she did? Why did they make the choices (as a writer) that they did?"

Red Class
1. Reading Assignment 10 (as seen on the Reading Calendar), which means you will have finished your novel!
2. Reading Journals to be collected--you should have a total of ten Reading Journal Entries (the first five of which have already been graded) one for each reading assignment.
3. “All They Had” Worksheet,questions 1, 3 & 5.
4. Transactional Journal Entry 3 due on Friday 2/29.
5. Reminder: Return your Report Card envelope to your Green class teacher ASAP.
Yellow Class
1. Transactional Journal Entry 3 due on Friday 2/29.
2. Reminder: Return your Report Card envelope to your Green class teacher ASAP.
Blue Class
1. Transactional Journal Entry 3 due on Friday 2/29.
2. Reminder: Return your Report Card envelope to your Green class teacher ASAP.
