Follow the easy steps below to 1) practice for the New York State Assessment and 2) earn some Extra Credit for Language Arts class!
1. Look to the right of this post to the section entitled "ELA 8 Assessment Prep." (HINT: It's directly below the giant Extra Credit" pic.)
2. Click on the "Figurative Language Quiz" link there or here.
3. Complete the 30 questions related to figurative language (similes, metaphors, alliteration, etc.). As we have discussed in class, your ability to identify these devices in the writing of others will be an important part of your success on the ELA Assessment.
4. Once you've completed the activity, either Print the page with the results or write the necessary information on a sheet of loose-leaf. Important info which would serve as evidence would be: "Date" and "Results" as articulated on the screen.
